When making your room look beautiful and appeal with fabrics and colors you must be sure to follow a few rules.

Where to Add Fabrics & Color
Color can really bring a room to life. You don’t have to spend too much money on decorating the living room; the easiest and most inexpensive way to do it is with throw pillows, window treatments and tapestries. Combine throw pillows in interesting patterns. The pleasing look that solid print, small print and large print pillow can create is a perfect example of this. The sofa shouldn’t be the only place for putting throw pillows. Over-sized pillows that you have can be tossed on the floor for extra seating.

Tapestries offer intricate patterns, have pleasing texture and are rich looking. You can place a tapestry that complements the other colors of your décor on one of the walls. The room’s focal point can be this tapestry.

Creating the Right Mix of Pattern and Color
It is generally best to decorate the room with three colors. Most cases warrant that the room is made in a 60/40 split between a dominant color and two other colors. The room’s color will be balanced and a base color will result, allowing it to stand out and become the template for more color and pattern.
